MALE STUDENT MENTORING INITIATIVE for Qualified Youth
Liberation Fellowship CDC is offering its Male Student Mentoring Initiative pilot mentoring program to 8th and 11th grade male youths who qualify for its 6 week course. The program will provide stipends to the students and their school as well as a stipend to their parent or guardian.
The project seeks to provide leadership training and mentoring infused with HIV/AIDS and STI awareness training to separate groups of 10 middle and 10 senior high school males.
Personal responsibility and accountability for being progressive leaders and positive role models in the schools and larger community will be stressed.
STD and HIV/AIDS education strategies will be explored as a part of the students work product which will require them to produce an education event for their parents and peers at the end of the course. The Pilot runs from May 1, 2009 to June 18, 2009.

FREE HIV/AIDS TESTING CAN PUT FOOD ON YOUR TABLE!
Were doing it again! Liberation Fellowship is conducting a free HIV screening and education service for our Germantown residents. The last time we did it (in February) it was a real success.
The screening will be held Thursday evening, April 30, 2009 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at the FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH IN GERMANTOWN 35 W. Chelten Avenue (corner of Germantown & Chelten Aves.)
